So it’s no surprise a new $4 twist on the beloved pasta combo by Aldi has attracted a huge following since the item launched in July.
The ready-made Mac and Cheese Crispbakes, which are crumbed parcels of macaroni pasta and cheese sauce, have proved popular among shoppers who say it cooks perfectly in an air fryer.

“They are amazing and I did them in the air fryer,” one person commented on a post about the Mac and Cheese Crispbakes in Facebook group Aldi Mums.
Other shoppers said the mac and cheese was “tasty as” and “delicious”, pointing out you could still cook them in a normal oven if you didn’t have an air fryer.
“They are great, air fryer 180 (degrees) seven minutes each side,” one shopper advised.
But if you’re keen on getting your hands on the Mac and Cheese Crispbakes you better get in fast – they’re a seasonal item, which means they will only be stocked by Aldi for a limited time.
Aldi is famous for its limited time only food items, with customers expressing disappointment last week over news the supermarket’s mini doughnuts and churros range was only seasonal.

One shopper revealed in the Aldi Mums Facebook group the desserts have been “deleted” from stores, with the supermarket known for marking limited edition products with a “D” when they won’t be restocked.
“I am absolutely gutted,” the Victorian woman wrote. “These were such a great treat for the family.”
Her post attracted more than 100 comments from shoppers who were equally upset by the news.
As well as its mainstay items Aldi has a range of limited time only or seasonal products which include specialty cheese, desserts and freezer foods.
Occasionally these items become so popular Aldi decides to stock them year-round, with its Urban Eats spanakopita and cheese tiropita becoming permanent freezer fixtures last year.
