It was announced last week that he would front the Raiders’ board of directors this week where he would be asked to show cause for why his contract should not be torn up.
The club confirmed on Monday in a statement the 23-year-old has been terminated.
“The Canberra Raiders Board of Directors today decided to terminate the contract of Curtis Scott effective immediately,” the club statement said.
“The Board carefully considered the statements made at the ‘show cause’ hearing with Curtis Scott on August 17 and the material supplied afterwards.

“The Board decided that Curtis Scott’s prior behaviour and recent assault charge has brought the Club into disrepute, and they could not ignore this and the responsibilities that his NRL playing Contract entails.
“The Board said the Club would continue to support Curtis Scott’s ongoing rehabilitation and it will be in contact with NRL Welfare in this regard.
“The club will be making no further comment on the issue.”
Scott had been charged with assault earlier this month over an alleged incident at a nightclub earlier this year. Scott has previously said he will vigorously defend the charges.
The case is listed for mention on August 30 for a hearing date.
He was banned for three matches by the NRL at the time and was fined $15,000 for bringing the league into disrepute.
Reports this weekend revealed Scott had attended Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and undergone psychiatric treatment.
