Emergency services were called to Nerang Beaudesert Road in Witheren just after 6am on Tuesday to reports two cars had been involved in a crash.
Two men were removed from the wreckage and transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital, one in a critical condition with leg injuries and the other stable with back pain.

A Queensland police spokesman said the forensic crash team would assess the scene given the seriousness of the crash.
He said one of the people involved “might have life-altering injuries”.
